A quieter website for a studio whose work speaks first

A positioning and website concept for an architecture and interiors studio, built so the projects carry the argument.

Established business · Concept project — created to demonstrate our approach. Not a real client engagement.

Concept homepage design for a fictional architecture studio

The challenge.

An established studio with serious work can still read as interchangeable online. Portfolio pages compress every project into the same grid, the writing explains process rather than point of view, and enquiries arrive from budgets the studio does not want.

Strategic insight.

Selectivity is the message. If the site shows fewer projects, at a larger scale, with the reasoning written plainly beneath them, it filters enquiries before a conversation ever happens.

What Wonder505 created.

  1. 01A positioning statement that names the studio's stance on materials, restraint and site.
  2. 02An editorial project template built around full-bleed imagery and short, unhurried captions.
  3. 03A site structure that leads with the work and keeps services one level down.
  4. 04A search framework around location, project type and material language rather than generic terms.

Design and execution.

Art direction

Ivory ground, ink type, no decoration competing with photography. Images sit edge to edge; everything else is set narrow so the eye returns to the work.

Structure

Three levels only — work, project, enquiry. Nothing that delays a visitor from seeing a finished room.

Search

Project pages carry descriptive, human copy about place and material, which is also the copy that ranks for how people actually search for this kind of studio.

Illustrative outcomes.

What this approach is designed to achieve. These are intentions, not measured results.

  • A portfolio that reads as curated rather than exhaustive.
  • Enquiry forms that qualify scope and budget before a call.
  • Search coverage tied to real project language, not generic service terms.
  • A site that can absorb new projects without a redesign.

Illustrative project perspective.

For a studio like this, the website's job is restraint. Every element removed makes the architecture louder, and the enquiries that survive that filter tend to be the right ones.
